Narrative context of the Turmoil extension
Turmoil opens a tumultuous period in Terraforming. Corporations face many difficulties that they have to deal with: natural disasters, social movements, political struggles, etc.

All of these issues have the immediate effect of slowing down the development of human civilization on Mars. The Terraforming Committee, formed by corporations and lobby groups, is desperately trying to control the situation.

Turmoil, the fifth expansion for the game Terraforming Mars
The Turmoil expansion introduces a number of new mechanics and elements to Terraforming Mars. Among the novelties, you will find:

Global events that affect all players. This is a new type of cards.
The Terraforming Committee. Within this formation, each player will place their own representatives in order to gain influence and actively participate in the decisions of the Committee. This struggle for political power is paramount in determining which party will lead the next generation. There are 6 different parties, each with a unique leader and its own policy.
New corporations.
New projects.
New boards and politician pawns to simulate a complete political system.
